Privacy Policy

Updated April 20, 2026

This policy explains what SaveThat stores, what it sends to third-party services, and what gets deleted when you leave. If a privacy policy reads like it was trying to hide the interesting parts, it usually was.

1. Information We Collect

We collect account details provided through Clerk, such as your email address and profile name. If you connect external services like Raindrop.io or Twitter/X, we store the tokens needed to keep those sources connected and sync them securely.

2. How We Use Information

We use your information to operate SaveThat, import and sync bookmarks, analyze content with AI services, and understand product usage. We do not sell your data.

3. Data Storage

SaveThat stores AI-generated summaries, metadata, and embeddings needed for search and chat. The plan is intentionally derivative-data-first. Raw bookmark content is not the product moat and should not become the retention trap.

Derived data is stored in application databases, including SingleStore and Neon, so retrieval and semantic search can function reliably.

4. Cookies

We use cookies and similar storage for session management, auth state, and preferences such as theme selection. You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the service may stop working.

5. Data Retention

We keep your data while your account remains active. If you delete your account, we delete stored user data associated with the service, subject to limited operational retention required for security, fraud prevention, or billing records.

6. Third-Party Services

SaveThat relies on third-party providers to operate key parts of the service:

  • Clerk for authentication
  • Third-party AI providers for analysis, embeddings, and chat
  • PostHog for analytics
  • Dodo Payments for billing
